ಹೊಸದಿಲ್ಲಿ, ಡಿ. 14: ಕರ್ನಾಟಕ, ಮಧ್ಯಪ್ರದೇಶ, ಒಡಿಶಾ ಮತ್ತು ಗುಜರಾತ್ ರಾಜ್ಯಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಅಲ್ಪಸಂಖ್ಯಾತರ ಮೇಲಿನ ದೌರ್ಜನ್ಯ ಪ್ರಕರಣಗಳ ಸಂಖ್ಯೆ ಈ ವರ್ಷದ ಅಕ್ಟೋಬರ್ ತಿಂಗಳವರೆಗೆ 170ಕ್ಕೆ ಕಡಿಮೆಯಾಗಿದೆ ಎಂದು ಗೃಹ ಸಚಿವ ಪಿ. ಚಿದಂಬರಂ ಇಂದು ರಾಜ್ಯ ಸಭೆಗೆ ತಿಳಿಸಿದರು.


‘‘ಅಲ್ಪಸಂಖ್ಯಾತರ ಅದರಲ್ಲೂ ಮುಖ್ಯವಾಗಿ ಕ್ರೈಸ್ತರ ಮೇಲಿನ ದೌರ್ಜನ್ಯ ಪ್ರಕರಣಗಳು ದೇಶದಲ್ಲಿ, ಮುಖ್ಯವಾಗಿ ಕರ್ನಾಟಕ, ಒಡಿಶಾ, ಮಧ್ಯಪ್ರದೇಶ ಮತ್ತು ಗುಜರಾತ್‌ಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಹೆಚ್ಚುತ್ತಿದೆ ಎನ್ನುವುದು ಸರಿಯಲ್ಲ’’ ಎಂದು ಪ್ರಶ್ನೋತ್ತರ ಅವಧಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಅವರು ಹೇಳಿದರು.



ಈ ನಾಲ್ಕು ರಾಜ್ಯಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಈ ವರ್ಷದ ಅಕ್ಟೋಬರ್ ತಿಂಗಳವರೆಗೆ ಕೋಮು ಹಿಂಸೆ ಪ್ರಕರಣಗಳು 170ಕ್ಕೆ ಇಳಿದಿವೆ ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿದ ಅವರು, ಕಳೆದ ವರ್ಷದ ಇದೇ ಅವಧಿಯಲ್ಲಿ 204 ಪ್ರಕರಣಗಳು ದಾಖಲಾಗಿದ್ದವು ಎಂದರು.



ದೇಶದಲ್ಲಿ ಕೋಮು ಸಾಮರಸ್ಯವನ್ನು ಕಾಪಾಡಿಕೊಳ್ಳುವುದಕ್ಕಾಗಿ ರಾಜ್ಯ ಸರಕಾರಗಳ ನಿರ್ದಿಷ್ಟ ಬೇಡಿಕೆಗಳಿಗೆ ಸ್ಪಂದಿಸುವ ಮೂಲಕ ಹಾಗೂ ಪೊಲೀಸ್ ಪಡೆಗಳನ್ನು ಆಧುನೀಕರಣ ಗೊಳಿಸುವ ಮೂಲಕ ಕೇಂದ್ರ ಸರಕಾರ ನೆರವು ನೀಡುತ್ತಿದೆ ಎಂದು ಸಚಿವರು ತಿಳಿಸಿದರು.



ರಾಷ್ಟ್ರ ರಾಜಧಾನಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಈಶಾನ್ಯ ಭಾಗದ ಜನರಿಗೆ ಕಿರುಕುಳ ನೀಡಲಾಗುತ್ತಿದೆ ಎಂಬ ಆರೋಪಗಳಿಗೆ ಪ್ರತಿಕ್ರಿಯಿಸಿದ ಅವರು, ದಿಲ್ಲಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ವಾಸಿಸುವ ಈಶಾನ್ಯ ಭಾಗದ ಜನರಿಗೆ ರಕ್ಷಣೆ ನೀಡುವಂತೆ ಪೊಲೀಸರಿಗೆ ಸೂಚಿಸಲಾಗಿದೆ ಎಂದು ಚಿದಂಬರಂ ನುಡಿದರು.
ಹಣಕಾಸು ಸಚಿವರಾಗಿದ್ದಾಗ ಚಿದಂಬರಂ ಕೂಡ 2ಜಿ ಹಗರಣದಲ್ಲಿ ಭಾಗಿಯಾಗಿ ರುವುದರಿಂದ ಅವರು ರಾಜೀನಾಮೆ ನೀಡಬೇಕು ಎಂದು ಒತ್ತಾಯಿಸಿ ಪ್ರತಿಪಕ್ಷಗಳು ಘೋಷಣೆಗಳನ್ನು ಕೂಗುವುದರ ನಡುವೆಯೇ ಎಲ್ಲ ಪೂರಕ ಪ್ರಶ್ನೆಗಳಿಗೆ ಚಿದಂಬರಂ ಉತ್ತರಿಸಿದರು.



ಎಪ್ರಿಲ್‌ನಿಂದ ಮಾರ್ಚ್‌ವರೆಗಿನ ಕಳೆದ ಹಣಕಾಸು ವರ್ಷದಲ್ಲಿ 1,574 ಕಸ್ಟಡಿ ಸಾವುಗಳು ಸಂಭವಿಸಿದ್ದವು. ಇವುಗಳ ಪೈಕಿ 1,426 ಸಾವುಗಳು ನ್ಯಾಯಾಂಗ ಕಸ್ಟಡಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಸಂಭವಿಸಿದರೆ, 146 ಪೊಲೀಸ್ ಕಸ್ಟಡಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಸಂಭವಿಸಿದವು.



ಅಪರಾಧ ಪ್ರಕರಣಗಳಿಗೆ ಸಂಬಂಧಿಸಿ ಕ್ರಮ ತೆಗೆದುಕೊಳ್ಳುವುದು ರಾಜ್ಯಗಳ ಕೆಲಸ ಎಂದರು. ಹಾಗಾಗಿ, ಕಸ್ಟಡಿ ಸಾವುಗಳ ವಿಷಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಕೇಂದ್ರ ಸರಕಾರ ನೇರವಾಗಿ ಮಧ್ಯಪ್ರವೇಶಿಸುವುದಿಲ್ಲ, ಬದಲಿಗೆ ಕಾಲ ಕಾಲಕ್ಕೆ ಸಲಹೆ ಸೂಚನೆಗಳನ್ನು ನೀಡುತ್ತದೆ ಎಂದು ಚಿದಂಬರಂ ತಿಳಿಸಿದರು.

Beef Eaters Launch Movement against Proposed Bill

Bangalore, Feb 14 (DHNS): Launching a mass agitation against the proposed Bill on cow slaughter, Movement for Preservation of Indian Food Culture, an umbrella group of 46 organisations, has started a signature campaign and aims to reach one crore people so that the Bill is not presented.

 The campaign would go on till February 20 after which a memorandum would be submitted to the Governor asking him to reject the bill, informed Syed Mohammad Iqbal, Joint Convener of the Movement.

Iqbal, who is also the Joint Convener of the Karnataka Muslim Muttahida Mahaz (KMMM), a federation of 28 Muslim organisations, alleged that the Government was “dancing” to the tunes of the Sangh Parivar.

The Movement has the support of Dr Ambedkar Philosophical Foundation, Karnataka Rajya Raitha Sangha, Samatha Sainik Dal, apart from the KMMM. Civic Front comprising the left front, the AIADMK, the Indian National League, the Dalit Sangharsh Samiti (DSS) also announced its support for the movement.

 “The proposed amendment in the Karnataka Prevention of Cow Slaughter and Cattle Preservation Act, 1964 is absolutely draconian. The Government is targeting a particular community under the guise of cow preservation whereas beef is an essential part of the Indian food culture,” Mavalli Shankar, President, Dalit Sangharsha Samiti (DSS) and Joint Convener of the Movement, told Deccan Herald.

Maintaining that the existing laws were sufficient to curb cow slaughter, he said that a public debate was needed before the Bill was passed, otherwise it would be “an attack on the food habit of the poor and the downtrodden”.

 “Muslims alone don’t eat beef, Dalits, Christians and tribals also consume it. Why is the Government ignoring the dietary habits of two-third of the population,” he asked.

Qasim Aijaz Qureishi, President, Karnataka Jamiat-ul-Quriesh,said, “as far as the ban on cow slaughter is concerned, it is already in place. Then why is the government bringing in an amendment to put a blanket ban on slaughter of bull, bullock, and buffalo?” he wondered.

Iqbal said that the amendment had proposed to make mere transportation of the cattle and beef consumption a non-bailable offence. “What if someone bought beef from outside the State? Will he also be arrested?” he asked.

Awareness meet

The Government should concentrate on more important issues like banning arrack, prohibition of child labour, he said. The Movement will organise a public awareness meeting on the proposed Bill on February 23.  Iqbal alleged that certain organisations were manufacturing and exporting fertilisers using the carcass of animals  “They are clandestinely making money in the guise of preserving the cattle,” he charged.

Sunil Dugar, Committee Member of the PDS, maintained that the Bill should be passed at any cost. “Only mercy killing should be allowed. There should be a total ban on slaughter and consumption of the cattle,” he said.

Owaisi calls for unity among Muslims, dalits and BCs

HYDERABAD: Hyderabad MP and Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (MIM) president Asaduddin Owaisi said Muslims, Dalits and other Backward Castes need to work together to bring about a change in the socio-political scenario of the country.

Speaking at a seminar, Ambedkar, Islam and Equality conducted at Maulana Azad National Urdu University (Manuu), Owaisi said though his party has been working to improve the living conditions of the oppressed groups, a better coordination is needed to bring about a real social change in the country. "A real social change can be achieved only by breaking the present caste alliances," he said.

Speaking on the occasion, Kancha Ilaiah, director of Centre for Study of Social Exclusion and Inclusive Policy (CSSEIP), which conducted the seminar to mark the 120th birth anniversary of Dr B R Ambedkar, said a deliberate attempt is being made to create a rift between the Dalits and Muslims. He said appropriate representation should be given to Muslims in the Lok Sabha based on their population ration in the country.

Former chief secretary to the state government Kaki Madhava Rao, president Dalit Mahasabha, AP, Kathi Padma Rao and vice-chairman Centre for Dalit Study Y B Satyanarayana and others spoke on the occasion. Manuu in-charge vice-chancellor Khalid Sayeed presided over the function.

Bangalore, 28 June 2010: Karnataka's leading intellectuals and writers, including Prof U R Ananthmurthy and Girish Karnad, have come down heavily on the state government over the proposed anti-cow slaughter Bill and threatened of a sate-wide agitation against if the ''anti-poor, anti-farmer and anti-democratic'' legislation was not revoked. The Jnanapeetha Award winning writers joined a host of other luminaries in lending their support against the ''ill-motivated'' Bill at a mass public rally held at Shivaji Nagar, in Bangalore on Monday. Launching a scathing attack on the BJP government Prof Ananthmurthy said the Bill was communally motivated and brought to the floor of the Houses in order to make criminals out of ordinary Christians and Muslims. Dumping a copy of the proposed bill in the dustbin to mark his protest, he said that people who eat beef too have humanity unlike members in the BJP led state government who are planning to cut down the staple diet of community. ''The farmers would face difficulties in taking care of cattle after they stop milking. If the bill is implemented such cattle would have no takers and it would cause a great imbalance,'' he said. Insisting that the proposed Bill was not only detrimental to Muslims, Prof Ananthamurthy said the lives of ordinary farmers will also be hugely affected by the move and they will be frightened to take up the rearing of cattle, leading to shortage of milk. Expressing concern that the move would spark caste struggle, he said, cutting across religious lines people should oppose the Bill which was an interferance in the dietary habits of crores of people. Mr Karnad said the BJP government was operating with Hindutva agenda and backward and minority communities are in danger at this point of time.The BJP is not talking about protecting cattle out of compassion but it is rather part of a hidden agenda, he said. JDS spokesman and MLC YSV Dattha said his party would not allow tabling of the Bill in the Upper House, although it has secured the nod of the Lower House. Raitha Sangha president KS Puttannaiah ridiculed the government saying, the farmers in the state will have to tie their cattle inside Vidhana Saudha if the anti-cow slaughter Act comes into force. Samatha Sainik Dal chief M Venkataswami dared the government to implement the Act and warned the chief minister that the Dalits, backward castes, Muslims, Christians, farmers and writers have forged a unified front against the draconian measure. Voicing his concern over the proposed Act, Devanooru Mahadeva, Dalit leader and writer, urged the Governor to send the copy of the Bill to the President of India seeking her intervention. Former MLA and the president of Anti slaughter movement AK Subbaiah presided over the meeting, which was attended by people from all walks of life and representatives of various pro-people organisations. including Samatha Sainika Dal and Karnataka Komu Soharda Vedike. Those who addressed the meeting warned the state government of carrying out a massive agitation throughout the state, if the bill was not withdrawn. Former Union minnister CK Jaffer Sharief, Mangalore MLA UT Khader, MLCs Naseer Ahmed and Abdul Azeem, farmer leader Kodihalli Chandrashekhar, journalist Gauri Lankesh, former minister BT Lalitha Naik, former MLA Srirama Reddy, left party leaders Gurushanth and Siddanagowda Patil, writers Prof Rahmath Tarikere, KR Nagaraj, Fakir Mohammed Katpady, Pattabhirama Somayaji, Induhdar Honnapur, Bhanu Mushthak, Allamaprabhu Bettadur, Dr Mogalli Ganesh, Dr. L Hanumanthaiah, Dr Banjagere Jayaprakash, SDPI president Abdul Majeed, PFI state president Ilyas Thumbe, DSS leaders Mavalli Shankar, Mohan Raj, activists Patapat Nagaraj, Karnataka Muslim Muthahida Mahaz state secretary SM Iqbal, Beef Merchants Association state president Khasim Aijaz Khureshi, human rights activist Kalkuli Vittala Hegde, Mangalore beef merchants association chief Ali Hassan, among others, were present on the dais. ಮಂಗಳೂರು, ಎ.11: ಹಳೆಯಂಗಡಿಯ ಎಬಿನೈಝರ್, ಬಿಜೈ ಆನೆಗುಂಡಿಯ ಆಶ್ರಯ, ಉಳ್ಳಾಲ ಸೋಮೇಶ್ವರದ ಸ್ಟೆಲ್ಲಾ ಮೇರಿಸ್ ಆಶ್ರಮಗಳ ಮೇಲೆ ಇತ್ತೀಚೆಗೆ ಸಂಘ ಪರಿವಾರದ ಅಧೀನ ಸಂಸ್ಥೆಯಾದ ಬಜರಂಗ ದಳದ ಕಾರ್ಯಕರ್ತರು ನಡೆಸಿದ ದಾಳಿಯನ್ನು ಖಂಡಿಸಿ ಜಾತ್ಯತೀತ ನಿಲುವಿನ 37 ಸಂಘಟನೆಗಳು ಸೋಮವಾರ ದ.ಕ. ಜಿಲ್ಲಾಧಿಕಾರಿ ಕಚೇರಿ ಮುಂದೆ ಪ್ರತಿಭಟನೆ ನಡೆಸಿತು. ಇದಕ್ಕೆ ಕಾಂಗ್ರೆಸ್, ಜೆಡಿಎಸ್, ಸಿಪಿಎಂ, ಎಸ್‌ಡಿಪಿಐ ಪಕ್ಷಗಳು ಕೂಡ ಸಾಥ್ ನೀಡಿದ್ದವು.  ಸಂಜೆ ನಾಲ್ಕು ಗಂಟೆಗೆ ಸರಿಯಾಗಿ ಜಿಲ್ಲಾಧಿಕಾರಿ ಕಚೇರಿ ಮುಂದೆ ಜಮಾಯಿಸಿದ ಕ್ರೈಸ್ತ ಸಮಾಜದ ಬಾಂಧವರು ಹಾಗೂ ಸಮಾನ ಮನಸ್ಕ ಸಂಘಟನೆಗಳ ಕಾರ್ಯಕರ್ತರು ‘ಸಿಡಬ್ಲುಸಿಗೆ ಧಿಕ್ಕಾರ, ಸಮಿತಿಯಿಂದಲೇ ಮಕ್ಕಳ ಕಾಯ್ದೆಯ ಉಲ್ಲಂಘನೆ, ಧರ್ಮದ ಹೆಸರಿನಲ್ಲಿ ನಡೆಯುವ ಗೂಂಡಾಗಿರಿಗೆ ಧಿಕ್ಕಾರ, ಕಾನೂನು ಕೈಗೆತ್ತಿಕೊಂಡು ರಾಜಕೀಯ ಮಾಡುವ ದುಷ್ಟರಿಗೆ ಧಿಕ್ಕಾರ,ಅನಾಥ ಮಕ್ಕಳ ಅನ್ನ ಕೀಳುವ ಧೂರ್ತರಿಗೆ ಧಿಕ್ಕಾರ’ ಎಂಬ ಘೋಷಣೆಗಳನ್ನು ಮೊಳಗಿಸಿದರು. ಪ್ರತಿಭಟನೆ ಯುದ್ದಕ್ಕೂ ಪೊಲೀಸ್ ಇಲಾಖೆಯ ಕಾರ್ಯ ವೈಖರಿಯ ಬಗ್ಗೆ ತೀವ್ರ ಆಕ್ಷೇಪ ವ್ಯಕ್ತವಾಯಿತು.  ಕ್ರೈಸ್ತ ಆಶ್ರಮಗಳ ಮೇಲೆ ದಾಳಿ ನಡೆಸುವ ಬಜರಂಗದಳದಂತಹ ಮತೀಯ ಸಂಘಟನೆ ಗಳ ವಿರುದ್ಧ ಕಾನೂನು ಕ್ರಮ ಜರಗಿಸಬೇಕು, ಇವರಿಗೆ ಕುಮ್ಮಕ್ಕು ನೀಡುವ ಸಿಡಬ್ಲುಸಿ ಅಧ್ಯಕ್ಷೆ ಆಶಾ ನಾಯಕ್, ಮಹಿಳಾ ಮತ್ತು ಮಕ್ಕಳ ಅಭಿವೃದ್ಧಿ ಇಲಾಖೆಯ ಉಪನಿರ್ದೇಶಕಿ ಶಕುಂತಳಾ, ಶ್ಯಾಮಲಾರ ಮೇಲೆಯೂ ಕ್ರಮ ಜರಗಿಸಬೇಕು ಎಂದು ಒತ್ತಾಯಿಸಿ ಪ್ರತಿಭಟನ ಕಾರರು ದ.ಕ.ಜಿಲ್ಲಾಧಿಕಾರಿಗಳ ಮೂಲಕ ರಾಜ್ಯಪಾಲರಿಗೆ ಮನವಿ ಸಲ್ಲಿಸಿದರು. ಒಂದು ಮಗುವನ್ನು ಕೊಂಡು ಹೋಗಿ ಸಾಕಲಿ: ಸಮಾಜದ ದೀನ, ದುರ್ಬಲ ಮಕ್ಕಳ ಪೋಷಣೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ತೊಡಗಿಸಿಕೊಂಡಿರುವ ಕ್ರೈಸ್ತ ಆಶ್ರಮಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಮತಾಂತರ ನಡೆಯುತ್ತಿದೆ ಎಂದು ಆರೋಪಿಸಿ ದಾಳಿ ನಡೆಸುವ ಮತೀಯ ಸಂಘಟನೆಗಳು ನಾಗರಿಕ ಸಮಾಜದಲ್ಲಿ ಕ್ರೈಸ್ತ ಸಮುದಾಯಕ್ಕೆ ಕೆಟ್ಟ ಹೆಸರು ತರಲು ಪ್ರಯತ್ನ ನಡೆಸುತ್ತಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ಇವರ ಒತ್ತಡಕ್ಕೆ ಮಣಿದು ‘ಆಶ್ರಯ’ ಹೆಸರಿನ ಆಶ್ರಮ ನಡೆಸುವ ಸಾಮಾಜಿಕ ಕಾರ್ಯಕರ್ತ ಲ್ಯಾನ್ಸಿ ಲಾಟ್ ಪಿಂಟೋರ ಮೇಲೆ ಪೊಲೀಸರು ಜಾಮೀನು ರಹಿತ ಪ್ರಕರಣ ದಾಖಲಿಸಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ಸ್ಟೆಲ್ಲಾ ಮೇರಿಸ್ ಸಂಸ್ಥೆಯ 41 ಬಡ ಹೆಣ್ಮಕ್ಕಳನ್ನು ಈ ಮತಾಂಧರು ಬೆದರಿಸಿ ಮಾನಸಿಕ ಹಿಂಸೆ ನೀಡಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ಸಮಾಜ ಸೇವೆ ಮಾಡದ ಮತ್ತು ಮಾಡಲು ಬಿಡದ ಬಜರಂಗಿಗಳು ತಾಕತ್ತಿದ್ದರೆ, ಇಂಥ ಒಂದು ಅನಾಥ, ಬಡ ಮಗುವನ್ನು ಕೊಂಡು ಹೋಗಿ ಸಾಕಲಿ’ ಎಂದು ವಿನ್ಸೆಂಟ್ ಆಳ್ವ ಸವಾಲು ಹಾಕಿದರು. 1938ರಲ್ಲಿ ಸ್ಥಾಪನೆಗೊಂಡಿರುವ ಸ್ಟೆಲ್ಲಾ ಮೇರಿಸ್ ಸಂಸ್ಥೆ ಮತಾಂತರ ಮಾಡುತ್ತಿದ್ದರೆ, ಇಂದು ಮಂಗಳೂರು ಸಂಪೂರ್ಣ ಕ್ರೈಸ್ತಮಯವಾಗುತ್ತಿತ್ತು. ಮಂಗಳೂರಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಅನೇಕ ಕ್ರೈಸ್ತ ಶಿಕ್ಷಣ ಸಂಸ್ಥೆಗಳಿವೆ. ಅಲ್ಲಿ ಕಲಿತ ಮಕ್ಕಳು ಮತಾಂತರ ನಡೆದಿದೆ ಅಥವಾ ನಡೆಯುತ್ತಿದೆ ಎಂದು ಬಹಿರಂಗಪಡಿಸಿದರೆ ನಾವು ಇಂದಿ ನಿಂದಲೇ ಪ್ರತಿಭಟನೆ, ಹೋರಾಟವನ್ನು ಕೈ ಬಿಡುತ್ತೇವೆ ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿದ ಆಳ್ವ, ಬಜರಂಗ ದಳದವರು ಮತಾಂತರ, ಮತಾಂತರ ಎಂದು ಬೊಬ್ಬಿರಿಯುವುದು ಎಷ್ಟು ಸರಿ? ಇವರಿಗೆ ಕಾನೂನನ್ನು ಕೈಗೆತ್ತಿಕೊಳ್ಳಲು ಅಧಿಕಾರ ಕೊಟ್ಟವ ರಾರು? ಎಂದು ಪ್ರಶ್ನಿಸಿದರು. 

ದೀಕ್ಷೆ ಬೇಕಿಲ್ಲ: ದಲಿತ ಮಕ್ಕಳಿಗೆ ಶಿಕ್ಷಣ, ಆಹಾರ ನೀಡುವಲ್ಲಿ ಕ್ರೈಸ್ತ ಸಂಸ್ಥೆಗಳ ಪಾತ್ರ ಅಪಾರ. ಅದನ್ನು ಕಂಡು ತನ್ನ ತಪ್ಪನ್ನು ತಿದ್ದಿಕೊಳ್ಳದ ಇಲ್ಲಿನ ಮನುವಾದಿಗಳು ನಮಗೆ ದೀಕ್ಷೆ ನೀಡಲು ಮುಂದಾಗಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ನಮಗೆ ನಿಮ್ಮ ದೀಕ್ಷೆ ಬೇಕಾಗಿಲ್ಲ. ವಿದ್ಯೆ ಕೊಡಿ ಎಂದು ದಲಿತ ಸಂಘಟನೆಯ ಮುಖಂಡ ಕೃಷ್ಣಾನಂದ ಡಿ. ಆಗ್ರಹಿಸಿದರು.

ಜಾತ್ಯತೀತ ಸಮಾಜ ಹೆದರದು: ಕ್ರೈಸ್ತ ಸಮಾಜದ ಮೇಲಾಗುವ ದಬ್ಬಾಳಿಕೆಯನ್ನು ಕಂಡೂ ಕಾಣದಂತೆ ಇಲ್ಲಿನ ಪೊಲೀಸರು ವರ್ತಿಸುತ್ತಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ಪೊಲೀಸರು ವೌನ ವಹಿಸಿರು ವುದರಿಂದ ಬಜರಂಗ ದಳ ಮತ್ತಿತರ ಮತೀಯ ಸಂಘಟನೆಗಳು ಇಂದು ಸಾಕಷ್ಟು ಬೆಳೆದಿದೆ. ಆದರೆ, ಇದಕ್ಕೆ ಜಾತ್ಯತೀತ ಸಮಾಜ ಯಾವತ್ತೂ ಹೆದರದು ಎಂದು ಮುಸ್ಲಿಂ ವರ್ತಕರ ಸಂಘದ ಮುಖಂಡ ಅಲಿ ಹಸನ್ ಹೇಳಿದರು. ಶಾಸಕರಾದ ರಮಾನಾಥ ರೈ, ಅಭಯಚಂದ್ರ ಜೈನ್, ಯು.ಟಿ. ಖಾದರ್, ಮಾಜಿ ಶಾಸಕ ವಿಜಯ ಕುಮಾರ್ ಶೆಟ್ಟಿ, ಮಾಜಿ ಶಾಸಕಿ ಅಕ್ಟೋವಿಯಾ ಆಲ್ಬುಕರ್ಕ್, ಜೆಡಿಎಸ್ ಜಿಲ್ಲಾಧ್ಯಕ್ಷ ಎಂ.ಬಿ. ಸದಾಶಿವ, ಕ್ರೈಸ್ತ ಧರ್ಮಗುರುಗಳಾದ ಫಾ.ಮಿಲಿಯಂ ಮಿನೆಜಸ್, ಡೆನ್ನಿಸ್ ಮೊರಾಸ್ ಪ್ರಭು, ವಿವಿಧ ಸಂಘಟನೆ ಮತ್ತು ಪಕ್ಷಗಳ ಮುಖಂಡರಾದ ಯಾದವ ಶೆಟ್ಟಿ, ಮೊದಿನ್ ಬಾವಾ, ಅರುಣ್ ಕುವೆಲ್ಲೋ, ಬಾಝಿಲ್ ಡಿಸೋಜ, ಪಿ.ಬಿ.ಡೇಸಾ, ಸುರೇಶ್ ಭಟ್ ಬಾಕ್ರಬೈಲ್, ನವೀನ್ ಡಿಸೋಜ, ಸುರೇಶ್ ಶೆಟ್ಟಿ, ದಿನೇಶ್ ಹೆಗ್ಡೆ ಉಳೆಪಾಡಿ, ವಾಲ್ಟರ್ ಮಾಬೆನ್, ಜೆ.ಎಸ್.ನೊರೊನ್ಹ, ಮೆಲ್ವಿಲ್ ಪಿಂಟೋ, ಐಡಿಯಲ್ ಅಶ್ರಫ್, ದಯಾನಂದ ಶೆಟ್ಟಿ, ವಾಲ್ಟರ್ ಸಿರಿಲ್ ಪಿಂಟೋ, ಅಗಾತ ಮೇರಿ, ಸಂತೋಷ್ ಡಿಕಸ್ತ, ಜಾನ್ ಡಿಸೋಜ, ಅಬ್ದುಲ್ ನಾಸಿರ್ ಸಜಿಪ ಮತ್ತಿತರರಿದ್ದರು.
